Young Voters Workshop

Workshop on Voting directed to the youth of Arkansas! Held bi-annual in the Spring and Fall! Email education@sos.arkansas.gov for more info.

Purpose of the Workshop

Civics

We inform on the positions that we vote on here in Arkansas and give details on what different positions do. We break down the voting system to make it easier the first time they vote. We give them access to voting machines!

History

We teach on the history of voting and show many examples and people who have had to fight for their right to vote. We give an overview of the lengths voting rights have come since the founding of our country.

Critical Thinking

We give examples of issues facing young people today and explain how government and voting play into it all. We give them a space to discuss freely different ideas and issues of today's world.
