Awards & Citations

 

There are times when events or accomplishments in a person’s life warrant recognition or appreciation. The Secretary of State’s Office seeks to recognize special individuals on these occasions. Below, you will find information about the different ways that we do this and how you can nominate someone for an award as well.

Arkansas Traveler Certificate

This certificate (11 ¼ x 15 ¼) expresses the state’s special recognition to out-of-state visitors who have contributed to the progress, enjoyment or well-being of the State of Arkansas or to her people. When one receives this beautiful certificate they become an ambassador for our great state. Each certificate will have the official Seal of the State of Arkansas in gold, the signature of the Secretary of State and the signature of the Governor. Arkansas Travelers are only for persons not born in Arkansas and must not be an Arkansas resident. Only visitors qualify.

Capitol Citation

A beautiful gold trimmed and embossed certificate (8 ½ X 11) that is given to Arkansans only, in recognition of their contributions to Arkansas and its communities. It can also be given for milestones in one’s life (i.e., a 50th wedding anniversary, a birthday (age 70 and above), retirement, Eagle Scout recognition, Girl Scout - Gold Award, etc.) The Capitol Citation will have the gold seal of the Secretary of State and the official signature of the Secretary of State.
