Open EnrollmentWelcome to Open Enrollment, 2009! Have you been considering making any changes to your health insurance? Would you like to add your children to your plan, or maybe enroll in a pre-tax Vision plan? Well, now is the time to do it! From October 1 – October 31, employees can make changes to all aspects of their health insurance coverage, an opportunity that is fairly restrictive during the rest of the year. Employees can make changes to all other voluntary benefits during this period as well. You can add, change, or drop coverage on plans that range from vision coverage to life insurance to disability or cancer insurance. Certain types of changes will become effective almost immediately, but please note that all changes made to health insurance coverage will not be effective until January 1, 2010. Below you will find a list of important dates, plan changes for the upcoming year, and links to all the necessary forms to complete changes. If you are unable to find the information you need, or have questions about a form, please contact Karen Mason at 683-5487. There are several new insurance changes planned for the upcoming 2010 plan year. Important Dates:October 1st kicks off Open Enrollment month in 2009. Now is the time to review your options and select the plans and/or programs that are right for you and your family. October 13th is the date of the annual Benefit Fair, to be held in the Capitol Rotunda. For this year’s open enrollment we have 17 vendors who have confirmed attendance, including both health insurance vendors – Health Advantage and NovaSys – as well as the Arkansas Public Employee Retirement System (APERS). For those employees who will be making any changes during this open enrollment period please be aware that forms are due back to the HR office no later than October 23rd. Quick Reminders:
These forms will be available at the Benefit Fair on October 13th, or may be picked up anytime at the Secretary of State Human Resource Office. Adobe Reader is required to view PDF files.
