Arkansas Register honored with 2008 Robert J. Colborn, Jr. Innovation Award by the National Association of Secretaries of State
LITTLE ROCK, AR—Arkansas’s administrative rules publication, the Arkansas Register, was recently honored with the 2008 Robert J. Colborn, Jr. Innovation Award by the Administrative Codes and Registers (ACR) division of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS).
Editor Jon Davidson accepted the award on behalf of Secretary of State Charlie Daniels’ office and made a presentation on Arkansas’s system of cataloguing administrative rules at the 2008 NASS summer conference.
The Robert J. Colborn, Jr. Innovation Award, named for the founder of the national ACR organization, recognizes the spirit of its namesake’s efforts to share ideas to improve administrative rulemaking. The Colborn Award annually recognizes a program that demonstrates creativity and innovation in providing public access to, or managing, administrative rules. This year’s presentation coincides with the group’s 30th anniversary.
The Arkansas Register is an official publication of the State of Arkansas. It contains administrative rules and regulations adopted by the state agencies, boards, and commissions pursuant to Act 434 of 1967, as amended. Arkansas was honored for its efforts to modernize the filing system and make more information available to the public through a searchable online database.
More information on the Arkansas Register, including agency rule filing instructions and the administrative rule search engine, can be found on the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ar.gov.
