SECRETARY DANIELS CERTIFIES CONSTITUTION PARTY FOR NOV. BALLOT

(LITTLE ROCK, ARK.)—Secretary of State Charlie Daniels today certified a petition submitted this week by the Constitution Party of Arkansas allowing that party to list a candidate for US President on the ballot in the November 4, 2008 General Election.
The Constitution Party of Arkansas submitted the petition containing 1,572 signatures, of which 1,167 were found to be valid Arkansas registered voters. 1000 valid signatures are required to get on the ballot as a Presidential Group Candidate.
In addition to the recognized state parties (Democrat, Republican, and Green), the Libertarian Party of Arkansas has also qualified to appear on the General Election ballot. The Secretary of State certified that petition on October 3, 2007.
