Curriculum Maps and Lesson Plans
With recent shifts and new standards, our Education Team at the Secretary of State’s Office has studied the frameworks and worked closely with numerous teachers and professionals in the field of Social Studies to create a curriculum map, or guideline, as to how to break up the Standards into units, or key concepts that flow through the school year and make sense to you! We have also built in lesson plans to coincide with the “Key Concepts” for you to use! We’ve only just gotten started, so be sure to check back for more lesson plans in the future! The Secretary of State’s Office values and salutes teachers like you who ignite the spark to engage students in Social Studies and Civics education; we’re here to help you do that! If you have any ideas or suggestions on how to improve out lesson plans, or something you would like to see added, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team.
